Birth of a Hera Fisherman

Took IBM out to see if he could land his first Hera Buna. To make things a little more possible, I took him to a stocked fishing pond well known for lots of fish and sizeable ones to boot.

We pulled into Hanyu at about 8:00 am and the temperature was a roasting 35 degrees C. The people at the fishing pond were really nice and let IBM in for free plus gave us a sun umbrella and free ice cream to boot. Great folks.

Hera fishing is all about bait mixtures and timing the hits to get hooked up. I sat next to IBM and coached him through miss after miss for a couple of hours.

Suddenly, as if a lightbulb went off in his head, he got it right...bang! the rod went down on his upswing as if he hooked a brick. Fish On!

I could tell this fish was in the coveted 40 cm plus class by the way the rod doubled over and the fish bulldogged deep.
The smile on his face said it all as he played the fish to the net.

Yeah!! Very nice first hera and the birth of another hera fisherman :D :D :D

Massive shoulders on that fish and came in at 43cm.

IBM finshed the day with two really nice fish.

Some people think fishing is a matter of life and death.......It's way more important than that.

Great report Chuck. Godd to get the little ones hooked early!
Give a man a fish and you will feed him for one day.
Teach a man to fish and you will feed him for the rest of his life.
Give a man a boat and he will sit in it and drink beer all day!
